Hello,
I have just created the 1.1 feature branch called silc_1_1_branch in SILC
CVS. The upcoming 1.1 releases will be done from this branch and after
the releases the maintainance for the 1.1 releases will take place in this
branch. The SILC Server 1.1 development will also take place in this
branch.
To check out the branch give:
cvs co -r silc_1_1_branch silc
The CVS trunk as of now is reserved only for 1.2 development. It already
includes the TODO file which outlines some of the plans for the 1.2
development. You can consider that being the roadmap for 1.2 if you wish.
Some of the stuff in the TODO is preliminary but should give some idea of
what ideas I had.
As a new roadmap file there's also TODO-SILC which contains, usually my
private thoughts on, SILC protocol development ideas. Nothing on that
list means they are ever going to be done at any point. Both TODO and
TODO-SILC appear also on http://silcnet.org.
I once again voice my request for contributing developers to take part in
the 1.2 development cycle. The TODO list is long and there are myriad of
tasks for all levels of experience in programming. From writing new
crypto accelerator library from scratch to adding simple but important
usability features for SILC clients to bugfixing.
I personally start 1.2 development some time in June as soon as I get SILC
Server 1.1 in to stable stage. If you want to contribute you can start
1.2 development now.
Pekka
