moin,
a while ago i upgraded from gaim + silc-toolkit 1.0.2 to pidgin 2.0.0 and
silc-toolkit-1.1
when i start pidgin and connect to our silc server (1 channel on auto-join),
i get two pairs of error message dialog boxes. each pair consists one box
"Invalid memory allocation" and one box "Error encoding SILC public key
identifier".
i can still connect to the server and join the channel. i also see what
others in the channel are writing, but i cannot write anything myself.
anything i write in pidin just disappears from the input line after pressing
enter but shows neither in the channel-part of the pidgin window nor in
other peoples clients.
the key i am using was created a long time ago with silc 1.0. the key works
fine with silc-client 1.1.
creating a new keypair with silc-client 1.1 produces the same result. works
with silc, doesnt work with pidgin.
i upgraded by now to pidin 2.0.2 and silc-toolkit 1.1.2...same error.
the key data looks like this (i removoed the host and domain names)
Public key file : public_key_new.pub
Algorithm : rsa
Key length (bits) : 2048
Real name : Axel Grossklaus
Username : honx
Hostname : xxxx.yyyy.org
Email : honx at xxxx.yyyy.org
Fingerprint (SHA1) : BDFC 7AC6 8570 3A1D 9154 AF9F 7520 C343 8268 1ADC
Babbleprint (SHA1) :
xozez-soves-kicyl-byvoc-taguh-gyran-zitod-bebyg-fibik-makot-saxax
i can send you the public key if you like, but i'd rather not post it to
this list...
this is on linux (x86, openSuSE 10.2, gcc 4.1.2, glibc 2.5).
this feels like a bug in the pidin plugin, rather than in silc-toolkit..
any idea what is wrong here?
thanks...
tty, axel
